Nauvoo Illinois Temple Ornament
The Nauvoo Illinois Temple was the second temple constructed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After church members were forced out of Nauvoo, in the winter of 1846, the building was damaged by fire and tornado before being demolished. In 2000, the church began to build a temple on the original site whose exterior is a replica of the first temple. On June 27, 2002, the 158th anniversary of the death of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, the temple was dedicated.
The ornament is made of bright stainless steel and is 7.1 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter by 1 mm (0.04 inches) thick. The ornament comes with a 13 cm (5.1 inch) silver-colored string loop for convenient hanging from Christmas trees. The ornament comes protected by a folded-envelope-style card packaging.
